In March 2025, the Southern Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority proudly hosted the
World Baseball Classic Qualifiers in Tucson, Arizona. This tournament held immense
significance not only for the international baseball community but also for Southern Arizona
as a region. Once a thriving hub for Spring Training baseball, Tucson saw its baseball
prominence diminish after 2010. However, this event reignited the city’s passion for the
sport and showcased its capacity to host major international events, reaffirming Tucson’s
